Following Governor Walz’s announcement that distance learning will continue for the rest of the school year, SEIU Local 284 members had a chance to be on a call with the Governor to talk over the challenges we are facing and to hear about his plans to address COVID-19.
Member’s shared with the Governor and his team about the challenges we are facing every day and the work we’re doing to support our students and our communities through this challenge. We also got to hear directly from him about his plans to help support school employees, including his Executive Order calling on districts to keep all hourly employees employed during this pandemic.
This was our first Tele Town Hall so we did experience some technical difficulties, the recording starts during the Municipal Update from Andrea Jenkins – Minneapolis City Council Vice President and 284 Member.
