Tom was recognized as the 2020 SEIU Local 284 Member of the Year at the February 15, 2020 Leadership Assembly. Tom is a Bus Driver for ISD 196: Rosemount, Apple Valley, Eagan School District and a Member of Local 284 since 2008 and has served as a Union Steward for his Transportation Bargaining Unit since 2015. When he is not serving in the role of a Union Leader, he has served as the Birthday Brunch Coordinator to recognize members of the Transportation Union on their birthday. He has coordinated the Food Drive for the Communities-Rosemount Family Resource Center to help those in need of food assistance in the community. Since 2017 he has also helped to coordinate the Charity Potluck in his district that helps to raise funds for the food drive in Rosemount. When he is not serving his community, he supports his kids in their sports. We congratulate Tom for being names the 2020 SEIU Local 284 Member of the Year!
Nominations for the SEIU Local 284’s 2021 Member of the Year are due by 4:00 PM on Monday, January 18, 2021. The Member of the Year program is designed to recognize a member who exemplifies the values of SEIU Local 284 and lives a life that exemplifies our mission statement. The 2021 Member of the Year will be recognized just as previous Member of the Year honorees have been. Previous Member of the Year honorees are: Tom Ryan, 2020 Member of the Year: Beverly Tinney, 2019 Member of the Year: Mark Glende 2018 Member of the Year: Anna Gimberline, 2017 Member of the Year and Stella Sola, 2016 Member of the Year.
