Member Candidate Program

"Two SEIU Local 284 members, Valerie Rolstad and Rich Bloodgood, graduated from the first class of the SEIU Member Candidate Program. They graduated after participating with 17 other SEIU members from across the country in three intense filled days of training. SEIU International staff partnered with Wellstone Action and Progressive majority to provide the training to SEIU members who are currently running or are planning to run for State or Local office. Valerie plans a future run for state legislature and Rich will be running this year for Coon Rapids City Council.
