PERA

The Public Employees Retirement Association (PERA) is a lifetime income, cost-sharing retirement plan for Minnesota public employees. As a public employee, you are eligible for this pension program.

PERA administers retirement, disability, and survivor benefits for local government and school district employees. PERA is established by Minnesota Statutes, governed by an 11-member Board of Trustees, and is a qualified defined benefit plan under Section 401(a) of the Internal Revenue Code. PERA’s mission is to administer and promote sustainable retirement plans and provide services our member’s value. We do this by providing secure retirement benefits members can count on at affordable rates for public employers, with member-focused service delivery.

Visit their website for more information and resources at mnpera.org.

Support our Initiatives

The PERA pension in Minnesota is always under attack.  We want to engage with you and other retirees to ensure the strongest public pension for now and in the future.  As a retiree member you will receive legislative updates, have opportunities to go to our State Capitol and talk with your elected official on pension issues, and join with members and retirees for other special events. Dues will not be used for political contributions.
